Preview

Cleveland is slowly getting their rhythm back with a two-game winning run after losing seven of their last 11 outings in a miserable January for the defending champs. Despite the struggles, the team has remained on top of the Eastern Conference table, now two points ahead of second-running team Boston Celtics.

The Cavs are coming off a 111-104 victory over the undermanned New York Knicks on the road at the Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, as per ABC News.

LeBron James led the squad with a double-double of 32 points and 10 assists with five rebounds playing in 40 minutes. Kevin Love backed him up also with a double-double of 23 points and 16 boards.

Tristan Thompson was the third starter in double digits with 12 points and five rebounds as Kyrie Irving was sidelined by a quad injury. Irving is expected to be out in this match versus Washington although he is listed as day-to-day at the moment.

Off the bench, Channing Frye contributed 14 points on 4-for-8 three-point shooting while Kyle Korver had 11 points, shooting 2-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, the Wizards continue to play well as the team has won seven consecutive games. They have won 14 of their last 16 matches which enabled them to climb to the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings, after overtaking the reeling Toronto Raptors.

Washington thrashed the New Orleans Pelicans, 105-91, also last Saturday at the Verizon Center, SB Nation reported.

All five starters of head coach Scott Brooks scored in double figures led by John Wall with 24 points, 13 assists, five steals, and three rebounds. Markieff Morris had 18 points and four boards.

Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat, and Otto Porter Jr. netted 12 points apiece with Gortat also hauling down 17 rebounds.

Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in 10 points and two boards in 23 minutes coming off the bench.

Prediction

The Cavs are 12-10 on the road while the Wizards are 22-6 at home this season. It will be a tough fight but Washington is favored to win this one on their home floor.
