South Korean actress Shin Se-kyung, 25, is apparently not taking malicious rumors about her lightly. Recently, she went to the police in Gangnam, Seoul, to report around 20 people she accused of spreading defamatory comments about her on the internet.

According to her complaint, the accused internet trolls are posting rumors online that she flirts with several male celebrities.

In a statement obtained by The Chosun Ilbom Shin's management agency Namoo Actors said, “We will go through with the complaint to uproot this nasty practice of spreading false information under the cloak of anonymity online.”

At the age of eight, Shin made her debut in the entertainment industry when she was featured on the cover of Seo Tajji’s 1998 album “Take Five.” She went on to appear in the historical drama “Toji” and the children’s show “Ppo Ppo Ppo” as a child actress.

In 2010, Shin dated K-pop boy band SHINee member Jonghyun. But because of their busy schedules, the two broke up in 2010.

Shin starred in two SBS drama series in 2015. Aired on SBS from April 1, 2015 to May 21, 2015, “The Girl Who Sees Smells” starred Shin as a lady who has a strange ability to see smells as patterns in the air.

On Oct. 5, 2015, “Six Flying Dragons” premiered on SBS starring Shin with Yoo Ah-in, Kim Myung-min, Byun Yo-han, Yoon Kyun-sang and Chun Ho-jin. Lee Re played the younger version of Shin’s character in the drama series.

Yoo plays South Korean historical figure Yi Bang-won, whose fictitious lover Boon-yi is played by Shin, in “Six Flying Dragons Along.” With his father Yi Seong-gae, Yi Bang-won conquers the Goryeo Dynasty.”

At a news conference in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2015, Yoo said he was a huge fan of Shin. Although she had to wear some unsightly makeup, the actress does not hold back, The Korea Times quoted Yoo as saying.

It was a reunion for Shin and Yoo. Before “Six Flying Dragons,” the two played lovers in the 2011 drama series “Fashion King,” which also starred Lee Je-hoon and K-pop girl group Girl’s Generation’s Kwon Yuri.
