Hong Kong actor and philanthropist Jackie Chan has just bought a new midsize business jet. Along with the jet's fly-by-wire technology and Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics is a 6-foot flat-floor cabin that can accommodate eight passengers.

In a recent press release, Embraer said that the "Kung Fu Panda 3" star, who is their brand ambassador, was the first customer to take delivery of the Embraer Legacy 500 business jet in China. Chan also said that he was very thrilled to receive the airplane, which he described as "a state-of-art executive jet."

"In the past few years, my Legacy 650 has brought me fantastic traveling experiences and great convenience, allowing me to do more acting and philanthropic works around the world," Chan said. He added that he is sure that the performance of the new Legacy 500 will exceed his expectations again and become "a comfortable mobile home and office" for him.

Previously, Chan told AOPA that he had deployed his Embraer Legacy 650 to shuttle between China and Los Angeles. According to the philanthropist, the airplane had been used to send food and water to areas in China victimized by disaster.

In 2012, Chan was also the first recipient of a Embraer Legacy 650. This led to the start of his official partnership with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.

In July 2015, the Embraer Legacy 500 received a validation of type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The technology package of the jet includes the head-up display and enhanced vision of its Embraer Enhanced Vision System.

The Embraer Legacy 500 can cruise at 433 knots. It is powered by a pair of Honeywell HTF7500E engines to FL450 from runways that are as short as 4,084 feet.
