The Detroit Pistons (21-26) will square off with the Boston Celtics (29-18) at the TD Garden on Jan. 30, Monday as the 2016-2017 NBA regular season continues.

Detroit is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference standings, tied with the Milwaukee Bucks and one-and-a-half games behind eighth-seeded team Charlotte Hornets. They are on a two-game losing slide after winning their three previous matches.

In their most recent match last Saturday, the Pistons fell to the lowly Miami Heat, 116-103, on the road at the AmericanAirlines Arena, as per the Detroit Free Press.

Reggie Jackson scored 24 points on 10-for-17 field goal shooting, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished off three assists to lead head coach Stan Van Gundy's squad in a losing effort. Andre Drummond had a double-double of 17 points and 20 boards with three steals and two blocked shots while Marcus Morris added 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Tobias Harris came off the bench to contribute 16 points and two boards, shooting 7-of-11 shots in 28 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Celtics have won their last three games as the team has overtaken the reeling Toronto Raptors for the second spot in the Eastern Conference table. The team is now a half-game ahead of the Raptors and three-and-a-half games behind the defending champions and current East leaders Cleveland Cavaliers.

Boston is coming off a 112-108 overtime victory over the Bucks also on Saturday night in a match held at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Fox Sports reported.

Isaiah Thomas continued to be the main man for head coach Brad Steven's side as he led the team with 37 points on 11-for-21 shooting, including a 6-for-11 stint from the three-point line, and a 9-for-9 clip from the charity stripe. He also had three rebounds and eight assists.

Jae Crowder backed him up with 20 points, six boards, and four assists as the starting small forward while Amir Johnson added 11 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Backup center Kelly Olynyk chipped in 17 points, seven boards, and three assists in 36 minutes of play coming off the bench.

Prediction 

The Pistons 9-16 on the road this season while the Celtics are 15-8 at home. A big win for Boston is predicted.
