Ian Somerhalder is confirmed to be working together with his wife, Nikki Reed, after "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 take its last goodbye. Nina Dobrev's former boyfriend is reportedly going to take another role after several years of being a prime leading man in his home network.

Ian has confirmed in an interview that he is full of activity lately despite the approaching finale of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Nina's ex-beau then revealed to Variety that he is going to be producing a new series for Warner Bros TV alongside Nikki.

Titled as "Transcience," Somerhalder and Reed's upcoming series will tackle the story of an ambitious musician who was able to get the life and body that he badly wanted via the consciousness transfer. International Design Times Australia claimed the procedure will have some defects and the main character's past experiences, background and memories will start haunting him in a very jagged way.

IBT added "Transcience" is going to replace "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8's timeslot when it finally bids goodbye in March. Though some "TVD" casts might join in "The Originals" Season 4, Ian Somerhalder is reportedly not making an appearance in the spinoff series as he will be focusing more on his newest role as a producer.

Meanwhile, Ian told Variety he is grateful that he was given a chance to work with the some of the best people in the industry. "I've come out of this not only with a new wife and this life and this family and eight years under my belt, but I also have lifelong friendships and a vast amount of knowledge that I can now take into my life and my career," Nikki's husband said.

"It's exciting when you walk into a room or walk on a set and experience a problem that you possess the tools to find solutions effectively and economically," Ian Somerhalder added on. Until now, there is no official release date of the upcoming "Transcience" series. Below, watch the interview Nikki Reed's husband being interviewed by Clevver News during the Comic Con 2016.
