South Korean actress, singer, and designer Uhm Jung Hwa talks about how she battled extreme pain after undergoing a vocal chord nodules surgery in her recent appearance on the popular music program “Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook”.

The Hallyu star admitted that the aftermath effect of the surgery had been difficult for her as she had to endure intense pain, sleepless nights, and anxieties as well. In fact, she also revealed that it came to the point wherein she could not speak for a total span of 8 months!

According to Uhm as quoted by All KPop: "I was unable to sleep a single day of the week at the thought that I had to sing with a voice that had not completely returned to the state it was in the past. I wondered if I'd be able to go back into the recording studio, so it really feels like a dream.”

After her confession, the audience in the studio expressed their respect to the artist through a loud applause. It was Uhm’s second time to appear in the show after her first guesting in 2009.

Meanwhile, the 47-year-old star has recently made her much-awaited comeback in the entertainment industry after 8 years through her tenth studio album titled “The Cloud Dream of the Nine”, Soompi reported. Along with it is the release of the music videos of her two title tracks “Dreamer” and “Watch Me Move”.

Known as one of Korea’s most influential stars, Uhm rose to fame after releasing her hit singles "Sad Expectation", "A Love Only Heaven Permits", and "Rose of Betrayal". She made her acting debut in the 1992 film “Marriage Story”.
