Maine Mendoza and Alodia Gosiengfiao were tapped by Disney to be Queen Elsa and Alice, respectively, for the 2016 Disney Channel Asia Calendar. In 2015, Filipino stars Kim Chiu and Sarah Geronimo had also been chosen to be part of the calendar as Mulan and Rapunzel.

In its official website, Disney Channel Asia shared a couple of behind-the-scenes clips of Mendoza and Gosiengfiao's shoot. Both stars shared that they were excited and honored to be part of the 2016 Disney Channel Asia calendar.

"The shoot was so much fun because it's my first time to do this and it's very new to me. And I love it! I love Elsa," Mendoza gushed.

Gosiengfiao also shared that she also enjoyed the shoot although she found being photographed in a harness a bit challenging.

"It was kind of painful but when you enjoy something, concentrate on that. Actually we were just laughing the whole time," she explained.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide also reported that Yaya Dub's onscreen partner Alden Richard has also been approached by Disney Channel Asia to be a Disney Prince. It was said that he could be Prince Eric, Kristoff or Prince Hans. The "God Gave Me You" singer, however, has yet to confirm if he was able to land the role.

The publication further reported that the 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach may be part of the highly anticipated "Frozen 2."

In December, Disney artist Jimmy Mulligan turned Wurtzbach into a Disney princess, inspired by the film "Frozen." Mulligan also shared a short video of how he did the illustrations using his iPad Pro, with the hashtags, "disneyfied," "missniverse" and "piaalonzowurtzbach."

After receiving an overwhelming response from Wurtzbach's fans, particularly from the Philippines, Mulligan thanked his supporters through another Instagram post. He shared that he appreciated all the positive feedback he had received, adding that he loved the Filipinos. Following the post, many "Frozen" fans started to point out that Wurtzbach will be a welcome addition to the cast. They held that her crown is also similar to the one Queen Elsa has. Some held that she could play as her rival, or even a new friend, in the sequel.
