Apple launched iOS 10 back in June at its yearly WWDC Developers Conference. After months of waiting, the major iOS 10 update for iPhones and iPads will finally arrive on Tuesday, Sept.13.

Reportedly, the iOS 10 update will be released exactly on the coming Tuesday by 6 p.m., which is just three days before iPhone 7's launch, Telegraph reported. The new version can be downloaded by going to Settings > General > Software update.

Note the iPhone devices that will support iOS 10 - iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5.

There is no news on the data size of the iOS 10; usually Apple's updates are around 3 - 5GB in size so making enough space for it in the phone is advisable. However, people buying the new iPhone will be getting the updated software. Apple's iOS is free of cost for the existing users.

iMessage App - an exclusive app that will help the users to do things like order food, book flights and send money without having to leave the conversation 'you're in.' The user can also play YouTube links from within the iMessage app, Mirror reported.

Siri - Apple's voice assistant will be smarter compared to its young rivals. Apple has opened up its virtual assistant to third party apps so that it can now do things like book taxis.

Lock Screen - the update will allow the user to view photos, videos and respond to messages straight from the lock screen.

Photos - similar to apps like Timehop and Facebook's 'On this day' feature Apple has introduced a feature that will let the user to rediscover old photos. It will automatically group photos in to albums based on facial, object and scene recognition.

Control Center - it pops up first with an introduction screen. It details the three cards that can be accessed by swiping when it is up.

More updates on Maps, Music and all other apps will be available. For more updates stay tuned.
