Sony is about to release an upgraded version of the brand new console. While everyone in the tech world will have to wait for the official unveiling, Sony dropped some tidbits about the upcoming version dubbed as "Neo."
Pricing is one of the first things learned from the upcoming console. Unfortunately for bargain hunters, the upcoming version will "be more expensive than the company's current $350 offering," as reported by Time. PlayStation 4 Neo commanding a higher price is not because of the addition of a fancy name.
The upgrade focuses on gamers who want higher resolution on gaming - 4k resolution in select titles becomes a reality in PlayStation 4 Neo. But even though the upgraded hardware and support for better resolution, the latest version will still support relatively old PlayStation 4 titles.
Although Sony will be properly announcing the slimmer version of the console, images of the actual console have been leaked online. Pushsquare reported of images and twitter user "Shortmaneighty2" posting pictures of the actual slimmed down version of the device bought online. It's interesting to note that the packaging feature some sort of advertising for some of the popular titles in PlayStation.
The name "slim" immediately comes to mind because Sony really did trim the size of their console when compared to the original version. Of course, there would be some changes on the peripherals and even video output options to reach the slimmer body.
These two versions will most likely become the focus of Sony's unveiling this September. But even though the focus is on these consoles, Sony will most likely unveil some pretty interesting titles especially those who will work with 4k resolution monitors. Updates on other peripherals such VR gaming and PS Vita could also be on the books on the upcoming announcement from Sony.
