Also, AJ thanked the fans for all the love and support that was given to him over the years. The singer ended the note by stating he will become a better musician and will show everyone an even better music in the future.

It is worth noting that AJ had been taking time off from the group to complete his studies at Columbia University in New York. Previously, it was expected that the time off would not be too long as he had taken time off formerly but returned to promote with the group.

In the past, AJ negotiated with his agency NH Media to return after completing his studies and graduating. A source close to AJ told StarNews, "From what I know, it has been difficult trying to juggle both celeb activities and studies simultaneously, so he and the agency have both suffered from a lot of stress. As much as he has gotten into a great school, his determination to finish his studies is strong," AllKpop reported.

U-KISS is an acronym for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star, a South Korean boy band formed by NH Media in 2008. The current group members are Soohyun Eli, Kevin, Hoon and Jun.

The group is known for their international popularity, especially in Latin America where they have conducted various tours. In February 2010, U-KISS released "Only One", their first full-length album.
