NBA Trade Rumors: Kevin Seraphin agreed to a two-year deal with Indiana Pacers

Former New York Knicks center and forward Kevin Seraphin agreed to a two year deal with Indiana Pacers. His agent finalized the agreement on Thursday, Sept.1 for a $3.6 million deal. He is expected to formally sign the agreement next week.

Last season the 26-year Seraphin played for one season in Knicks before becoming free agent. Indiana Pacers decided to add him in roster to give more depth in frontcourt. According to Yahoo! Sports, he visited the Pacers workouts on Monday and Tuesday. Two days later his agent, Bouna Ndiaye finalized the agreement on Thursday night.

Seraphin was a strong player in Euroleague and French national team in his junior year. He played a major role in helping France to win silver medal in the 'FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship 2009' and 'FIBA Euro Basketball 2011' after lost to Greece and Spain in the final respectively.

Chicago Bulls drafted him as 17th overall in the 2010 NBA draft. Soon after, the Bulls traded him to Washington Wizards. He played for five seasons in Washington, before Wizards traded him to Knicks in Aug. 2015.

During his tenure in the Wizards he averaged 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. His performance decreased while in New York, only averaging 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 48 games.

Seraphin is considered as a lower-end big men in NBA, CBS Sports reported. Therefore, he had to wait for two months to land a deal in NBA after his contract with Wizards ended. His patient was finally paid off as Indiana Pacers decides to sign him for two years.

Pacers expects to add the 6'9" player's to the team's depth. Recently, Pacers already has Myles Turner and Al Jefferson in center, along with Paul George and Thaddeus Young in forward.

Indiana Pacers is scheduled to start NBA pre-season on Oct.4, against New Orleans Pelicans in Smoothie King Center, New Orleans.
