Marvel recently announced that when Riri Williams officially takes over Tony Stark's suit, she will be known as "Ironheart." Writer Brian Michael Bendis reveals that the name was agreed upon during a group discussion with the editors. The beginnings of Ironheart is currently in the works as Bendis, and artist Stefano Caselli will be including her in this fall's issue of the "Invincible Iron Man #1."

Bendis says that "Iron Woman" seemed too old fashioned and "Iron Maiden" was more of a legal nightmare. The writer told Wired that Joe Quesada came up with the name after he shared his plans for Riri in the movie. He wanted her character to speak to the franchise as a whole. Tony put on the armor to save his heart and now, Riri is putting it on for a reason still close to the heart, thus the name "Ironheart."

The character Riri Williams was first introduced in "Invincible Iron Man #7" when Stark discovers that a 15-year old girl from Massachusetts Institute of Technology reverse-engineered one of his suits. Inquirer reported that even though Stark will not be present in most of the comic frames, series editor Tom Breevort said that he will be soaring with "Ironheart" spiritually.

The "Invincible Iron Man #1" will be released on November featuring Riri's debut as "Ironheart." The introduction of a new character is an indication that Marvel is making a bold move towards a more inclusive universe. But the challenge is if "Ironheart" can level with Stark's "Iron Man" and if the Cinematic Studio can cast someone that can live up to Robert Downey Jr.
