'Miss Universe 2015' Update & Spoilers: Asian Bets Shine In Pre-Pageant Events [VIDEO]

Now that the coronation night for the Miss Universe 2015 is just a few days down, Asian bets are already working hard to win the title. There is a total of eighty women from all over the globe who will compete for the prestigious title and crown.

Among the candidates are bets from Asian countries, who hope to be the next Miss Universe. Miss Universe's Team Asia include Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (Philippines), Pham Huong (Vietnam), Nitaya Panemalaythong (Laos), Seng Polvithavy (Cambodia), Lisa Marie White (Singapore), Anindya Putri (Indonesia), Urvashi Rautela (India), Vanessa Tevi Kumares (Malaysia), Szu Yu Chen (Taiwan), Aniporn Chalermburanawong (Thailand), Ariana Miyamoto (Japan), Kim Seo-yeon (South Korea) and Yun Xue (China) among others. These Asian contenders have been participating in a number of preliminary events for the 64th Miss Universe in Las Vegas, Nevada, along with other 67 candidates.

Moreover, the Asian beauties recently joined in a number of pre-show events such as photo shoots in the fashion photography, Yamamay swimwear and evening gowns. "I absolutely love love LOVE my official glamshot photo," Pia, Miss Philippines, said in an Instagram post on Friday. "Such a pleasure working with you! ❤ #MissUniverse #MissUniverso #ConfidentlyBeautiful @missuniverse."

Aside from Pia, another Asian contestant who made noise this week is Thailand's Aniporn. The Thai beauty previously showed off her costume which appeared to be the iconic motorized richshaw, also known as "tuk-tuk." She will wear the said costume on the pre-pageant national costume show on Wednesday, December 16, as her way of paying homage for her country.

Philippine Star shared that the costume was chosen from a contest held in Thailand. Las month, the dress initially made a stir when it was unveiled during a press conference in Bangkok. "The tuk-tuk dress will flash lights like a real tuk-tuk," Kaveerat Kunapat revealed to the news outlet, a spokesperson for Miss Universe Thailand. "It will be one of a kind."

This year's Miss Universe will happen on Sunday, December 20, at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The pageant's official website shared that the preliminary and national costume shows are set on Wednesday while the preview and interviews were already aired on Monday.
