Benedict Cumberbatch praises Doctor Strange; Reveals rigorous routine

Benedict Cumberbatch is all set to play Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon, in Marvel's new superhero movie "Doctor Strange," directed by Scott Derrickson. The film is going to be released in November this year. The Hollywood actor is playing the lead role of a doctor, who has turned to sorcery after an unfortunate event where he lost his hands.

Recently, the actor explained about his rigorous work routine and how he is preparing psychologically and physically for his major Hollywood part. He admitted that the role is by far the biggest of his career.

According to the actor, the routine involved strict fitness regime day-to-day and also various stamina exercises to be performed without a break. He was left with little time to sleep or to take rest and all this went on for 14-15 hours a day aimed to get the superhero body.

He further explained in his interview to The Sun that the fitness routine is very challenging. He added that he can testify strictness of the regime as an actor. Even Marvel president Kevin Feige agreed upon with a testimonial that it was one of the most grueling regimes that has ever been seen.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cumberbatch is playing an interesting character, who acquires superpowers magically along with a Cloak of Levitation after a horrible car accident. His character, Strange, is a surgeon from New York who will completely change his life under the mentorship of a mystic from Nepal.

The actor is all geared up for the role of a broken man who rises once again. He is all praise for his character and how a broken, disabled man becomes a superhero. Cumberbatch added that Strange becomes powerful by following an extraordinary journey for staying in his power and goes through unbeatable endurance that finally leads him to getting superpowers. The movie is awaited by the fans and its cast members include Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, among others.

Tilda Swinton has been criticized to have been cast as a mentor from Nepal. However, she has handled the criticism well and cleared that it is not just another white-washing scheme by Hollywood.
