Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is reportedly being considered for Yash Raj Films' upcoming project "Thug" opposite Aamir Khan.

Director Vijay Krishna Acharya is keen to cast Deepika Padukone opposite Aamir Khan in the movie, DNA India reported. This will be the first time for Deepika and Aamir to do a movie together.

Padukone, who also bagged female lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historic romance drama "Padmavati," is riding high on the huge success of her two previous movies "Piku" and "Bajirao Mastani."

The 30-year-old actress has recently hiked her fee to around Rs. 15 crores per movie, becoming highest paid actress in Bollywood. Other leading Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif are far behind her in terms of remuneration per movie.

The "Bajirao Mastani" actress is making her Hollywood debut in Vin Diesel' "XxX: Return of Xander Cage" in which she will be seen together with Hollywood stars like Nina Dobrev, Samuel L Jackson and Ruby Rose.

Padukone recently appeared on Vanity Fair' new list of Hollywood's next generation stars. The "Piku" actress, in an interview with fashion magazine, admitted that her Hollywood journey has not been easy.

"Initially, I didn't feel like I was ready [to take up an international project]. I was offered films in the past too, but they just didn't feel right. I have always followed my heart and my instinct," she said, Hindustan Times newspaper reported.
