In June, "Divergent" lead actors Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Ansel Elgort have been ambivalent on returning for the franchise after being blindsided by Lionsgate's plans to turn the film into a TV series. Now, even Miles Teller is weighing on his decision to reprise his role as Peter Hayes. While there is ambivalence from the original casts, Lionsgate announced the TV series was moving forward.

Teller told the Hollywood Reporter that he and his co-stars initially signed on for the fourth installment of "Divergent," believing it would be released in theaters. He added that Lionsgate's sudden plans caught them all by surprise. The actor further admitted that he was unsure about reprising his role because the circumstances are different now. He also thinks that turning it into a TV series would mess up with the finale.

Woodley already expressed her ambivalence during her appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con. James is also carefully considering his decision to continue since he wanted to review the implications prior to participating.

CEO Jon Feltheimer admitted that what led to their predicament right now is because the studio rushed the release of the third installment of "Divergent." They wanted to hit the target release date so bad that they failed to focus on quality. This explains why the third movie had abysmal special effects and the plot needed a bit more work.

As of date, Lionsgate's plans are already moving forward and the idea of turning "Divergent" into a TV series has already attracted potential buyers. According to Variety, Feltheimer and TV Group Chair Kevin Beggs announced that the studio has already planned to create 10 to 13 episodes for the first season.
