Japanese actress Erika Sawajiri recently joined Instagram. The 28-year-old actress, on the creation of her account, posted five photos already with the caption.

"A lot of things happened, so I started using Instagram,"  she posted. Sawajiri was involved in many issues over the years of her career, as reported in jpopasia.

Last year she was divorced from her husband of three years and a half Tsuyoshi Takashiro, 48, a multimedia creator. She is also famously known for her liberated personality and straightforward attitude.

In 2007, she was heavily criticized by the media as she answered tersely on one of the questions of a reporter during the premiere of her movie "Closed Note."

Sawajiri was first discovered in 1999 when she passed the auditions of Stardust, a Japanese talent agency. She started her celebrity career as a model for junior fashion magazines such as CUTiE and Nicola.

She got her big break when she was chosen to be one of the casts of the TV drama 'Hotman'. She was notably known for her portrayal of a girl with the degenerative disease spinocerebellar degeneration in the TV drama '1 Litre of Tears' in 2005.

Besides from being an actress and a model, Sawajiri is also a singer. She has signed labels for Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Studioseven Recordings. She had also won awards such as the Japan Academy Award for Newcomer of the Year and Japan Academy Prize for Popularity Award.

Going back on her Instagram account, Sawajiri warned off those who are 20 years old below to not follow her on Instagram, as posted in AsianJunkie. Perhaps this is just a necessary precaution in case she post some risky content in the future.
