The Jackie Chan-starrer action comedy film "Skiptrace" heads this week's Chinese box office run, amassing $60 million through its four day opening. The film opened on July 21 and quickly gained traction in the box office closing its opening day with $14.7 million in earnings.

Through the weekend, "Skiptrace" earned an additional $44 million, a record that is less than $1 million shy of the global total revenue of "The Legend of Tarzan," which closed at $44.7 million.

According to Deadline, "Skiptrace" earned a total of $64 million in seven international markets including Bulgaria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore and Vietnam.

The success of "Skiptrace" further establishes Chan's box office charisma and star power. With the recent success of his latest film, it also cements his reputation as a producer, according to Variety. "Skiptrace" was directed by Finnish director Renny Harlin who is also slated to direct a movie in collaboration with Alibaba Pictures Group.

Closing in on "Skiptrace" is "The Legend of Tarzan," which opened on July 19 and was the leader of the box office chart for two consecutive days. Over the weekend, the film earned $12 million pushing its six day cumulative take to $22.5 million.

Third place was secured by a Japanese animated feature "Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan" which raked in $8.14 million during its three day weekend run. In the fourth place is "One Night Only," a comedy crime film which stars Aaron Kwok. The film earned $3.89 million during the weekend.

Fifth on the list was "Big Fish and Begonia" which is staying strong despite being on the chart for three weeks. The film earned $3.40 million over the weekend pushing its total rake to $79.7 million over 17 days.

Former top billed "Cold War" plummeted to the sixth place earning $3.02 million. Its 17 day run currently stands at $96.8 million.

"When Larry Met Mary" is at the seventh place earning $1.92 million. Locally produced animated feature "Bobby the Hedgehog" closed in with $1 million earnings during its three day opening run. Completing the top 10 list is "Baahubali," a South Indian fantasy action film which earned $540,000 over its two day run on the box office.
