"Suits" creator/showrunner Aaron Korsh has addressed the future of the show in a recent interview, revealing that he had mapped out the series to go for at least seven seasons.
Following "Suits" Season 6 premiere, Korsh spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about what's next while also weighing-in on the fate of Mike and the company in the coming years. The executive producer is unsure whether USA Network will still grant them another season after seven years on air; however, he is positive that "Suits" will not be cancelled after its current sixth run.
"I'm 98 percent sure we're going to have a season seven," Korsh told the publication.
"Once we get closer to it, hopefully I will know at the beginning of whatever our last season is that it's our last season."
In 2015, "Suits" completely changed the dynamic and rhythm of the series, after Mike finally decided to go to prison and face his sentence for conspiring in committing fraud. Now on "Suits" Season 6, "Suits" fans have yet to find out where this game-changing storyline will bring the characters moving forward.
Previewing what's next, Korsh told Entertainment Weekly that the next episode of "Suits" will find Jessica, Harvey and Louis trying to implement their plan to use the partner buy-ins to pay off the class-action lawsuits. However, this strategy will not go smoothly as they have planned it.
On Mike's orbit inside the prison, Frank will continue to pose a threat as "Suits" Season 6 progresses. Korsh shared that viewers are going to find out more about his crime and what he's capable of in the coming weeks. Frank is also capable of physical and mental intimidation, Korsh warned.
"Suits" Season 6 airs every Wednesday at 9PM on USA.
