South Korean actor Lee Jin Wook and his agency have now responded to the claims of a woman saying that she was raped by him, as they have filed a countersuit and clarified that the sexual contact was consensual.
The woman, who made the claims, is identified only as "A" and the agency of Lee said in a press released on July 17 that they are sincerely apologizing for their client being involved in such a scandal.
The agency added, "Lee Jin Wook will be faithfully cooperating with police questioning at the Seoul Suseo police station at a later time." The complaint of a false accusation against "A" was said to be submitted a day before the press release was made public, Soompi reported.
The press release added that "A" and Lee have been introduced to each other in the past via a mutual acquaintance. The two are not in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship but Lee reportedly planned to continued meeting with the woman with interest.
The sexual assault complaint was filed last July 14 by "A," and she claimed that after having dinner and parting ways on the evening of July 12, Lee came to her home later and sexually assaulted her. She has submitted her underwear she wore during the time of the assault to the National Forensic Service, and police officials have requested the analysis of the object.
"A" was questioned until July 15 and Lee visited the department later. The two will be called for additional questioning if necessary in the coming days.
The agency has denied the claims of "A," saying that Lee has been busy with endorsement shoots as of late, Inquisitr reported.
After the press release from the agency of Lee was made public, "A" has also released a statement saying that she and Lee met for the first time last July 12 and are not dating or meeting with interest. Phone records are said to be available to justify that "A" is telling the truth.
