Hollywood actress Blake Lively has admitted that she is carefully maintaining her figure. Lively stunned everyone by appearing sexy in her new film "The Shallows" despite giving birth recently.

The actress filmed her role in the movie eight months after giving birth. Lively told E News that she had to work out regularly to maintain her figure. She said her role in the movie gave her motivation to go to the gym. She also commended her trainer Don Saladino for helping her. Lively revealed that working out was difficult since her body had changed a lot during her pregnancy.

Filming the movie was like running a marathon, Lively stated. She said her workout regimen lasted for six weeks. Lively revealed that she went for six days without eating lunch and had to swim a four-foot wave for thirteen hours. She said that both the training and the intense production schedule for the movie may be the reason why she is still in shape.

"The Shallow" is an action-thriller movie about a young surfer who is fighting against a hungry killer shark. Apart from being challenged to trim her figure, Lively said she also had to face her life-long fear of sharks. The actress admitted that she never watched the movie "Jaws" because of this fear.

Lively commended her husband Ryan Reynolds for inspiring her to push through with the film. The actress claims that Reynolds encouraged her to still wear a bikini and feel beautiful. She claims to have also taken inspiration from Reynolds' latest movie "Buried," where the actor struggles for his life after being buried alive in Iraq.

"The Shallows" is set to premier in the US on June 29.
