Queen to Perform in Historic Hong Kong Concert in September

(Photo : Reuters) British rock band Queen will be performing in Hong Kong this September.

British rock band Queen are slated to play their first ever concert in Hong Kong in September. Their historic Hong Kong stop is part of their Asian tour which includes schedules in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and mainland China.

Queen is famous for legendary rock songs like We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, and I Want To Break Free. The band's original vocalist, the legendary Freddie Mercury, succumbed to an AIDS-related illness in 1991. The band in now fronted by Adam Lambert, whose gained fame in 2009 as part of the talent reality show American Idol.

Queen is slated to perform in Hong Kong on September 28 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. Tickets to the concert range from HK$580 ($75) to as much as HK$2,380 ($307). Tickets will be available via HK Ticketing on June 24.

Aside from Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand, Singapore and Japan, two more cities will be announced as part of Queen's Asian tour.

Prior to their Hong Kong gig, Queen will be performing in Singapore. The rock band will perform at the Formula 1 Singapore Airline Grand Prix.

Aside from Queen, Singapore will also be entertained by prolific artists like the Australian Kylie Minogue, American acapella group Pentatonix, indie rock band Bastille, and disco icon KC and the Sunshine Band. The event will be held from Sept. 16 to Sept 18.

Minogue will perform at the Padang Stage on Sept. 16. Queen is slated to perform on Sept. 17 at the Padang Stage as well.
