Square Enix fans will have to wait longer for the update of "Kingdom Hearts III "and the "Final Fantasy VII Remake." Based on the list of the company's list of the upcoming games, Square Enix will focus more on other games.
The Shinjuku-based video game maker has listed its plan to segment its game pipeline starting from 2017 to 2018. In its recent investor document, Square Enix explained the company's business plan is to focus on only two major blockbuster games every year. This year, it will be "Dragon Quest XI," while for 2018, the company plan to release "Kingdom Hearts III" and the "Final Fantasy VII Remake."
Another game that appears on the list is the collaboration with Marvel. "Avengers" game. Earlier this year Marvel and Square Enix has announced partnership for creating a video game for the Marvel superheroes game. The "Avengers" is expected to launch in 2018 as reported by GameSpot.
The list has made fans worry about the two popular games. Previously, Square Enix planned to release "Kingdom Hearts III" and the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" this year. However, the game director Tetsuya Nomura stated earlier this year that both games were still in progress, and he did not mention the release date.
Square Enix is known to be the video game maker that specializes in role-playing games. Its most popular games are "Final Fantasy," "Dragon Quest" and "Kingdom Hearts." Those three games have been sold millions of copies worldwide.
"Kingdom Hearts" is collaborative works with Disney Interactive Studios, while "Final Fantasy" franchise is owned by Square Enix itself. The original "Final Fantasy VII" was released in 1997 and the fans considered the version as one of the most captivating ones. Therefore, Square Enix decided to remake the game and create a new adventure of Cloud Strife, the main character in "Final Fantasy VII."
