Lara Croft returns in the upcoming "Tomb Raider" movie franchise reboot that is set to be out in theatres soon. She is the pillar of change in not having only males as strong warriors as characters, but to have feminists eat their criticism of her sexualized image.
Based on its historical reference, it can be recalled that "Tomb Raider" is a videogame created back in the day by just a small team of people in Core Design, which was a videogame developer that was founded in 1988. There have always been masculine characters as heroes in creation of the games, but changes have been decided to be made and wanting to have a strong female character as the lead role, BBC News reported. She has then become a very iconic videogame heroine that has developed her popularity in the big screen.
It has been confirmed that there will be an upcoming third installment to its movie franchise which will simply be entitled "Tomb Raider," and Lara Croft is sure to return. The franchise began in 2013, the next came up two years later in 2015 in the "Rise of the Tomb Raider." Now, Lara Croft is finally returning to the big screen, to be portrayed by Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander as official photos of her were released. According to Screen Rant, she is featured both in character an in costume as the famous heroine archaeologist.
Along with actress Alicia Vikander, there are a few more actors joining the upcoming "Tomb Raider" including Walton Goggins whose character is still being kept in secret. However, it has been told that he will play as the movie's main antagonist. Another actor to join the cast is Daniel Wu, to portray the role of one of Lara's allies and actor Dominic West as Lara's father. Now that the official photos have been released, it is only a matter of time before the production team releases its first official trailer.
