Marvel released a new "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer during the Super Bowl on Sunday. The preview revealed new footages that provided a bit of spoilers for the film.
Yondu is team Guardians now
Apparently, Yondu (Michael Rooker) does not harbor any ill feelings towards Star-Lord, even after the latter did not hand him the Infinity Stone at the end of the first film. Instead, Yondu seems to have switched sides. The trailer shows him working alongside his adopted son and the rest of the Guardians.
Sean Gunn (Kraglin) told Screenrant that Yondu might face a mutiny from the Ravagers, because he has gone soft on Star-Lord. Clearly, his alliance with the Guardians only leads to problems, as revealed in the new "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer.
Nebula joins the Guardians in a fight against Thanos
Aside from Yondu, Nebula has also joined forces with the Guardians. Perhaps she has had enough of her father, Thanos, ordering her around. Karen Gillan told The Wrap that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will explore Nebula's background story. She said that fans might actually sympathize with Nebula, when they learn all the pain Thanos had caused her.
Elizabeth Debicki debuts villain character
The Super Bowl trailer for the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" gave fans their first glimpse at the film's female villain Ayesha. The "Night Manager" actress is covered all in gold as she sits on her gold throne, challenging the Guardians.
Mantis joins the Guardians
The new "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer also released more Mantis scenes. Seems the alien is now part of the cosmic adventures of the Guardians.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is all about family
Yondu is proof that family always comes first. He decides to align with the good guys to be with Star-Lord. Nebula decides to join the Guardians to build a relationship with her sister Nebula. Of course, Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot remain as a team, while Drax treasures the new family he has found among the Guardians.
