The Philanthropist magazine survey results issued on Friday show that Jackie Chan, Angelababy and Fan Bingbing are among China's most generous celebrities.

According to Asia One, the magazine evaluated Chinese celebrities including artists, film stars, TV anchors, athletes and writers depending on how they contributed.

Evaluation based on donation was 10 percent, fund raising 15 percent, charity influence 35 percent, and participation in charity activities 40 percent.

According to the magazine, the top ten celebrities based on participation in charity included Jiang Yiyan (71, parallel to Yuan Li), Yuan Li (71), Wang Han (72), Yao Ming (75), Yang Lan (78), Han Hong (77), Zhao Wei (78), Cui Yongyuan (79), Fan Bingbing (80), Jackie Chan (81) and, Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy (83).

As indicated by the list, Huang, Angelababy, Chan and Fan emerged at the top of the list. Here is a summary of their charity participations and financial information;

Huang and Angelababy

Huang is a Chinese actor and a shareholder of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation. He donated more than $2.16 million for rescue work after the Tianjin Tanggu chemical explosion in August 2015. Besides the donation, he sponsored 527 children for their life expenses as a wedding gift to his wife Angelababy. In the last two years altogether, Huang has been involved in charities in over 30 schools in China.

Chan

Chan is a Hong Kong actor who donated $500,000 to relatives of firemen who died during the Tianjin chemical explosion. He also donated his birthday gift of $152,000 from his fans to the charity. Chan then founded his charity organization in 2008 dubbed as the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation.

Fan

Fan is a Chinese actress who donated $152,000 to the relatives of the men who died during the Tianjin chemical explosion. She has also been taking part in her own charity project, called Heart Ali, to help cure children affected by congenital heart diseases in the Ali district of Tibet, China Daily reported. The project started in 2010, and every year, Fan goes to Tibet herself to bring the children in need of surgery to Shanghai or Beijing for operations.

It seems that these and many more Chinese celebrities, aided by their overwhelming influence, money and fame, have become important pillars of charity. Furthermore, apart from donations and charitable activities, some of them have contributed to the society in their own ways.
