tvN’s ‘Goblin’ attracting more viewers abroad!

It appears that recently finished fantasy romance drama series “Goblin” is not only loved by its Korean viewers alone but the international community as well.

According to reports, the drama featuring the “Train to Busan” star Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun, has been receiving positive response abroad including China and the United States. In fact, even the “Goblin” merchandises have been in demand among consumers as well.

"A lot of start-up sites have been emerging selling 'Goblin' related products like photos, postcards, and mugs… Even merchandise featuring fake Gong Yoo autographs have been popping up, demonstrating the fans' passion for the drama," an industry representative revealed as quoted by All KPop.

“Goblin” (also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) centers in the story of a goblin named Kim Shin (played by Gong). One day he met Ji Eun Tak (portrayed by Kim) who destined to be his bride to end his immortal life.

The series made its premiere on the TV screens on December 2 last year. It’s final episode, which aired on January 21, was considered as the “Second Highest Rated Drama Episode in Korean Cable Television History” with a total rating of 18.68 percent.

Meanwhile, Lee Dong Wook, who played the role of the Grim Reaper (also known as Wang Yeo) in the series, has recently bid his farewell to his character through various posts on his Instagram account with the caption “Goodbye Grim Reaper, Wang Yeo, and Lee Hyuk of ‘Goblin'", reports Soompi. Prior to this, the actor’s talent management agency King Kong Entertainment has released a video wherein the actor expressed his gratitude and appreciation to everyone who showed their support and love to the show. He further expressed how thankful he is to be part of the all-star cast series.
