"Thunderbolt Fantasy" is coming back to its manga format and its publisher recently released a sneak preview of series. Based on a puppet fantasy story, the manga format is also set to continue the puppetry's saga.

Manga Adaptation

One of the most surprising and interesting fantasy stories released last year was "Thunderbolt Fantasy." Produced in collaboration of Japanese and Taiwanese companies, it's not necessarily within the realms of anime because it is a 13-episode puppet series. However, a manga adaptation was later released that interprets the original story in manga format and as of this writing, there are 14 chapters available for reading online.

According to Crunchyroll, the manga's publisher is once again re-releasing the manga series that adapts part of the puppet fantasy story. The recently released preview online also compare the characters in puppet in manga format. Although unconfirmed, re-release often means that new chapters are coming soon which will most likely continue the original source material's story.

Unique "Anime" Story

"Thunderbolt Fantasy" is one of the series that received some anticipation prior to its release. The series, after all, was created and to be directed by Gen Urobuchi and he's known for his work in "Pyscho-Pass" and "Fate/Zero." He's also credited by the screenplay for the series.

It turns out that "Thunderbolt Fantasy" is an exciting story focused on a girl (Dan Fei) on the run from the vicious Xuan Gui Zong clan. After the death of her brother, she unexpectedly runs into Shang Bu Huan and Lin Xue Ya who also ended up being hunted by the same clan.

The story itself should look amazing in manga and anime series because of its dramatic storyline. But the puppetry actually works well with the story because of the intricate design combined with the story. Anime News Network even marks the series as "A" storytelling, execution and humor.
