Kim Hyun Joong won the defamation case filed against his ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi. The woman is facing punishment for evidence tampering and more.
After thorough investigations, the prosecution found that Choi cheated by manipulating the evidence in order to malign the singer so she can sue him and collect large compensation for supposed damages.
For starters, it was narrated that the woman's Kakao Talk messages which she presented as evidence to her miscarriage and abuse were fabricated, and utilized to wrongly setup Hyun Joong. The messages were edited to omit contents that will not be favorable for Ms. Choi.
Moreover, the court stressed that Ms. Choi deliberately submitted other false evidences such as her x-rays, ultrasound and photos of supposed bruises on her body. The judge also uncovered that her story about breaking her ribs did not result from physical assault but rather from a workout in a gym.
For her lies, Xports News reported than on Jan. 18, the court charged Ms. Choi for fraud and defamation. This decision effectively overturned the earlier ruling that the ex-girlfriend is innocent and had to be compensated for being abused and emotional distress.
Aside from this, Ms. Choi was found to have never been pregnant during the time she claimed she miscarried due to physical assault by Hyun Joong. This only means that no miscarriage ever happened as she asserted before the court.
Finally, in a detailed report on OSEN, it was revealed that the singer's ex-girlfriend falsely stated that she was abused in 2014. Her previous pregnancies and alleged forced abortion were completely fabricated stories.
The next trial for libel and fraud cases filed by Hyun Joong will take place on March 30. By this time, the singer would have already been discharged from the army as he is scheduled to return to civil life on Feb. 11.
