A new deleted scene from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" shows that Wookies can and do get angry when pushed to their limit, which is what happened when Unkar Plutt is literally disarmed by Chewbacca.

In the original "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," J.J Abrams didn't show what happened to Unkar Plutt after the crew escape with the Millennium Falcon. In the 3D Collector's Blu-ray edition, one of the deleted scenes shows what happened after the Jakku junk dealer starts threatening Rey. The Wookie steps up to defend his friends but Unkar Plutt unwisely laughs him off. He even goes as far by prodding Chewbacca, which turns out to be a bad idea as the Wookie twists his arm, steps on his foot then rips off his arm not a moment later, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Chewbacca is usually regarded as the lovable sidekick of Han Solo, however there's prior evidence that shows Wookies do have a temper when the occasion strikes. In "Star Wars: A New Hope", Han Solo warns C-3PO not to get Chewbacca upset by defeating him in a holographic game of Dejarik. C-3PO fires back that nobody cares when droids get upset but as Han Solo points out, droids don't pull out their opponent's arm when they lose, according to Screen Rant.

In the final cut, the graphic scene isn't included which is understandable given its gruesome nature. While it makes Chewbacca look awesome, the Star Wars franchise is aimed for a PG-13 audience, as per NY Dailys News. When a Storm Trooper dies, blood and guts aren't shown and they just fall off the ground.

That scene does prove Han Solo right, which is to never get a Wookie upset. The deleted scene is just one of the connections Episode VII makes with previous Star Wars films.
