Funimation Films and Toei Animation brings an English-dubbed "One Piece Film: Gold" to the Canadian and US shores this month. While the limited theatrical release is currently happening in North American territories, Funimation showed the public a first look of "One Piece Film: Gold."

"One Piece Film: Gold" takes the audience to the glittering world of Gran Tesoro where Luffy (voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard) and the Straw Hat pirates sail straight for the gold. It was dubbed as the largest entertainment city-ship in the "One Piece" world.

Disaster awaits the Straw Hat pirates as they meet a powerful king whose pockets are deep but ambitions are deeper. The king is Gild Tesoro, a tall and muscular man who served as the proprietor of Gran Tesoro.

Gild Tesoro craved power and control. But more than that, he got the ability that allows him to manipulate gold using his telekinetic powers. He started having this power after eating the non-canon Devil Fruit Gol Gol no Mi.

According to the One Piece Wiki page, he can also encase people in gold. By covering his own skin in gold, Gild Tesoro can have increased power. He was influential, that even the World Government cannot touch Gran Tesoro where some of the well-known pirates, rich people, and marines gather.

Aside from Gild Tesoro, "One Piece Film: Gold" also shows Dice, one of the Gran Tesoro crew members. He was described as a huge masochist. Dice felt pleasure whenever he does things that harm himself.

The clip published by iDigitalTimes showed how Luffy and the Straw Hats roll into Gran Tesoro. The video, which lasts for less than two minutes showed the crew was showered by gold dust as they arrived in the world of the golden emperor.

The movie debuted nationwide in Japan last July 23 and already had its limited screening in more than 20 countries all over Asia and Europe.

"One Piece Film: Gold" is currently showing at the Cinemark 14 in Denton Texas; Regal Cinemas Opry Mills 20 IMAX & RPX in Nashville, Tennessee; and at the Lagoo Cinema in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It airs from Jan. 10-17 in the said territory.
