A new study confirms that teens who are suffering from obesity could lose weight long-term if they will undergo weight-loss surgery. It is so far the best options these teens have as of the moment if they really want to let go of their unwanted fats.

According to News Max, although weight-loss surgery is looking like a promising method for helping teens fight obesity, in the long run, researchers also said that there is a possibility that teens would have to go another surgery instead complications arise. Teens who undergo weight-loss surgery often experience this because of the speed of how they are losing weight.

Post-surgery is what does it and researchers would just like to warn teens and parents of its complications so they are aware of the possible need for another surgery. Some teens could also experience nutritional deficiencies after the surgery.

Nevertheless, if obesity is just the case, there is no doubt that weight-loss surgery could indeed fix it. Dr. Thomas Inge of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, head researcher of this study, said that it is clear how weight-loss treatment through surgery gives long-term benefits to obese teens. However, one must not overlook the fact that it still could be risky, as there could also be a negative effect on the teen's diet.

Moreover, Dr. Inge also said rather than focusing on the risks that this kind of surgery could bring, it is better if people should just look at its advantages. Meanwhile, doctors and health experts should also take a look at on how they could minimize the complications.

WebMD wrote that there are about 4.6 million children, 18 years and below, who are suffering from obesity. These kids are weighing more than 100 pounds and above. A solution to put an end to it has been deemed necessary at this point even when it means going under the knife.
