The Golden State Warriors (31-5) host the Memphis Grizzlies (22-16) at the Oracle Arena on Jan. 6, Friday as the 2016-2017 NBA regular season moves forward.

Preview

Memphis has been struggling lately with four losses in their last six assignments. The team is currently settled in the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings, a full 10 games behind the conference leaders Warriors.

The Grizzlies are coming off a 115-106 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on the road at the Staples Center on Wednesday night for their second consecutive defeat, as per Fox Sports.

Marc Gasol led head coach David Fizdale's squad with 23 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one shot block while Mike Conley had a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists with seven rebounds. Tony Allen contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists as a starter.

Off the bench, two players scored in double figures, namely veterans Zach Randolph and Vince Carter who had 13 and 11 points respectively.

JaMychal Green continues to be sidelined for the Grizzlies with a fractured jaw.

Meanwhile, the Warriors extended their winning streak four games after a high-scoring 125-117 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers also at their home court of Oracle Arena last Wednesday, SF Gate reported.

Stephen Curry had 35 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal while Kevin Durant added 30 points, five boards, four assists, two steals, and three blocks to lead Golden State.

Klay Thompson was miserable from the field, going 5-for-15 including a 1-for-7 clip from three-point range, but ended with 14 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots. Zaza Pachulia was able to score in double-digits with 13 points.

Golden State won 11 of their last 12 games to stay on top of the Western Conference table.

Prediction

The Grizzlies are 9-9 in away games so far this season while the Warriors are almost unbeatable at home with a 16-2 record. Another high-scoring victory for Golden State is predicted.
