Atlanta Hawks currently listen to the trade offer for their forward Paul Millsap, and there are some offers for the 31-year old player. But despite the possible trade, Millsap iterated his intention to stay in Atlanta.
Atlanta Hawks currently open the possibility to trade players who will become free agent by the 2016-17 season ends. Those players are Millsap, Kyle Korver and Tabo Sefolosha. The management of Hawks try to avoid losing their players without compensation, like when they lost Al Horford to Celtics this season.
Before the 2016-17 season began, the 6’8” power forward has stated his intention that he will not go anywhere. But his intention does not reciprocate with the team management. He was nearly traded last season to Toronto Raptors or Denver Nuggets, as reported by CBS Sports.
However, Millsap insisted that he still wanted to play for Atlanta Hawks. Although his name is mentioned several time for possible trade, but the tree-time All-Star player iterated his intetion to stay in Atlanta.
This Wednesday, Millsap and Atlanta Haws coach Mike Budenholzer sat and talked about the team and other issues regarding the team. In an interview with Atlanta Journal Constitution, Millsap said their conversation was about the focus of the team which is more important than any rumors.
“We talked holistically, big picture, basketball, typical conversation that Bud and I may have,“ Millsap said. “It was (important) for us to sit down and talk to each other, especially with everything that is circulating out there.”
Millsap is a veteran player in the NBA with 11 seasons experience n the league. He was traded from Utah Jazz in 2013 and he immediately made significant impact in Atlanta Hawks, he had a significant increase of performance and selected All-Stars for three years in a row.
