South Korean comedian Kim Ji Min has recently opened up about her reactions towards the sexual assault issues against her close friend Yoochun in her recent appearance in the TV series “Heard It Through the Grapevine.”
The Hallyu star revealed that she was surprised by the latest accusations against the Yoochun as she claimed to have known him even before he entered the show business. She further shared her thoughts about the latter during the show.
"I was really shocked because I know Yoochun. We were actually kind of close… The Yoochun I know felt like a non-celebrity when I first met him. Unlike an idol star, he was easy to approach. He was simple, carefree, and easygoing. Rumors about him were also good. He's very mannerly to elders. So I was really really shocked about the sexual assault incident and even wondered if this is the Yoochun I knew," said Kim as quoted by All KPop.
However, it appears that some netizens were not pleased with Kim’s response regarding the issues against Yoochun, says reports. According to one online user, what she did was inappropriate and disrespectful.
She added: "I wonder if you said you were close but all you knew about the situation was the stuff they talked about on TV. If she were really close, she would never have mentioned him in that way. Not taking advantage of somebody you say you're close to in order to make money is human nature."
In July this year, Yoochun was accused of sexual assaults against four individuals, who were charged with false accusations and blackmailing by the Seoul Central District Court on December 22. The final hearing of the case will take place on January 17 next year.
