In the wake of laptops rivalry, one brand braves the competition. ASUS Chrome OS is presenting its Chromebook Flip which chiefly attracts attention for its 2-in-1 combination design for a friendly price.

But ASUS is set to make some big changes. To conclude the series of leaks, Newegg has itemized a C302CA laptop at $499 which seems to be an exclusive kin to Flip but not a replacement. It shows off a larger 1080p screen measuring 12.5 inches and is powered by the Intel's Core m3 processor rather than the inexpensive Rockchip part integrated into the Flip last year.

Added specs are the 4GB of RAM along with the 64GB of storage and it's certain that this laptop is a superior Google-run system but not at the level of the Chromebook Pixel or HP Chromebook 13. However, it is more appealing compared to the Celeron-based portables that domineer the Chrome OS realm, Engadget reported.

Additionally, the C302CA sports a more refined version of the Flip's all-metal design which includes two USB-C ports together with a microSD card reader. Compared to Flip, the new laptop is a bit heavier but could justify its weight due to the larger screen and a thickness of 0.5 inch.

According to The Verge, the Newegg has already removed the listing of ASUS C302CA which appears to be joining the club of many new computers that shy away from the USB 3.0 ports heritage for a full transition to USB-C, with two USB-C ports together with a microSD card slot.

ASUS C302CA specs and features are expected to be explained further in the upcoming CES 2017 from January 5 to 8 that will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The rumors linked to the device initially began in June and leak around the middle of October via FCC filing.
