After a successful 2016 for Lee Kwang Soo, fans are wondering about what's next for the actor now that "Running Man" has announced it will end in February 2017.

In this year alone, Lee Kwang Soo was casted to play as a cartoonist for "Sound of your Heart," an actor on "Entertainer," and a supporting role on "Hwarang." Soompi reported the actor made a cameo appearance in the drama as the best friend of the lead role played by Park Seo Joon.

Aside from that, his character is also the brother of Go Ara on "Hwarang." Reports stated Park Seo Joon's relationship with Lee Kwang Soo has something to do with him turning into a hwarang.

An insider revealed Lee Kwang Soo spent plenty of time to study his character on "Hwarang." The actor even joined during the script read-through of the drama series.

But on top of that, Lee Kwang Soo is also known as one of the original cast members of popular variety program "Running Man."

Korea Joongang Daily reported Lee Kwang Soo's reputation soar when he joined the SBS program in 2010. His fame can also be associated on the show's popularity in China and other Southeast Asian countries.

However, Lee Kwang Soo is often seen as the guy on "Running Man" who is funny and outgoing; hence, he is usually given the same character for his dramas. KINGKONG Entertainment revealed they were unaware that the three dramas where Lee Kwang Soo appeared would air at the same time.

"All three dramas were pre-filmed, so we didn't know when they would air. Somehow they all ended up airing around the same time, which kind of baffled us, too," CEO Lee Jin Sung revealed.

The CEO added they were saddened to know the decision of "Running Show" to end in February. "For (Lee's) acting career, we've been thinking about when would be a good time to leave the show," he said.

Lee Jin Sung continued, "Although it's true that Lee gets a lot of offers for comical roles, he's recently been getting some offers for other characters based on the acting abilities he has demonstrated over the years."
