"The Late Late Show" emcee James Corden is set to host the 59th Annual Grammy Awards next year. He has just karaoke'd his way into a hosting gig.

Fresh off his acclaimed turn as host of the Tonys, the talk show personality and Tony Award-winning stage star Corden will take to the stage as the host of the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. The said event will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT, TV Line reported.

Corden succeeds hip-hop artist-turned "NCIS: Los Angeles" star LL Cool J, who has hosted the Grammys since 2012. Recording Academy President and Chief Executive Officer Neil Portnow said in an interview that Corden has got big shoes to fill after the magnificent run with LL Cool J. He added that Corden is a commanding, dynamic showman who is perfect to host the Grammys.

According to ABC News, Corden hosted the Tony Awards on CBS earlier this year and was given high marks for gracefully guiding the telecast through a difficult evening, since it aired so soon after the Orlando nightclub shootings.

Corden is currently the host of CBS' "The Late Late Show." He joined as the host in 2015. He earned an Emmy Award in September for outstanding interactive program.

Corden's other TV credit is "Carpool Karaoke," featuring him side by side with various well-known artists who sing hit songs while driving. It has been a record-breaking segment on YouTube, garnering nearly 2 billion views and boosting the show's YouTube channel to more than 8 million subscribers.

The telecast of the 59th Annual Grammy Awards is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for the Recording Academy, with Ehrlich serving as executive producer, Louis J. Horvitz as director, and Ben Winston as a producer. David Wild is serving as a writer with Ehrlich.
