After six years, Margaret Cho is ready to release a music album worldwide. The Korean-American comedienne and singer-songwriter will be launching her second album in April 2016. At the same time, the funny lady is set to start her 2016 stand-up tour. Read on for more details.

The big news was disclosed by Billboard in an exclusive report. According to the publication, Cho's upcoming album is titled "American Myth" and it is follow-up to her first album "Cho Dependent" launched in 2010.

Cho reportedly has released three videos as a teaser of her highly anticipated second album. "Ron's Got a DUI," "Fat Pussy" and "(I Want to) Kill My Rapist" are some of the recently released singles from her album. Watch out for more teasers as the website notes that Cho will be releasing two more clips before officially launching her album.

Cho released a press statement on Wednesday talking about "American Myth" that includes her first works as a composer. "I am extremely proud to release American Myth," Cho said in a statement as quoted by NBC News.

"This is an album of anthems and showcases my first efforts as a composer. I made it with my longtime collaborator Garrison Starr and an incredible and inspiring crew of artists. It is my glamorous and glittering tribute to family, comedy, anger, fame, gayness, grief, fat pride, love, and hate," the 47-year-old comedienne added.

Cho also announced her upcoming stand-up tour and related details. She will open it in Kansas City, Missouri on Jan. 28 and close it in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 2. Fans can find the details on her website margaretcho.com.  

Cho is known for her stand-up gigs. She has even featured in movies like "It's My Party," "FBI" and "Face/Off," "The Rugrats" and more. As for her television appearance, she is noted for her work Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" wherein she played the main role of Teri Lee. She was also seen in "30 Rock." Recently, she made an appearance as Dr. Wendi in ABC's latest sitcom "Dr Ken."

As for her music career, she started it with her first single "I Cho Am a Woman" in 2008. She went on to release a full length album in 2010 which was nominated for 2010 Grammy award for Best Comedy Album.
