Reports say that developer Team Ninja's "NiOh" might be the next "Dark Souls," but even more hardcore - and even set in mythical Japan. Just recently, publisher Koei Tecmo has just announced that the PS4 exclusive is available for pre-order on the Japanese PSN.

According to Dualshockers, the pre-order benefits would be including bonus armor and weapons, such as the Sanada Yukimura's armor (otherwise known as the Crimson Master Armor) and an original armor design (the NiOh Armor), in addition to a "NiOh" PS4 theme.

A Digital Deluxe version for the game will also be made available, offering the base game itself and its Season Pass alongside a set of PSN avatars and five original weapons as bonuses. However, as of the moment, it is quite uncertain how or when those DLCs will be distributed for the international versions.

The concept for "NiOh" has been described by Gearnuke, where the game takes place in the 1600s in a fictionalized version of the Sengoku period, when Japan was in the middle of a civil war prior to the advent of the Tokugawa shogunate. Players would have to take the role of William, a sailor in pursuit of an enemy, who arrives in the Land of the Rising Sun and is enlisted by Hattori Hanzō, servant to Tokugawa Ieyasu, to face off against the demonic yokai that are sprouting prevalently in the wake of warring daimyo factions.

"NiOh" is scheduled for release on Feb. 9, 2017, as PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro console exclusives.
