According to Soompi, Big Hit Entertainment has released a formal statement to announce their stand on the issue. The label said they are going to take legal action against those who are spreading false accusations about BTS.
"We are informing you that starting from November 10, 2016, our company will be taking strong legal action against malicious rumors, false statements, and personal attacks that are being spread online which defame BTS or Big Hit," the agency announced.
The label also said that the BTS members have been affected by these attacks, and that some of them are having a hard time coping up with the issues pressed against them. As a result, Big Hit Entertainment has decided to take this stand to protect their artists.
"We can no longer overlook the behavior of netizens who consistently and habitually distort the truth and make personal attacks regarding BTS's creative work, music activities, personal lives, and more with malicious intent," Big Hit Entertainment said.
The agency added they are working alongside a law firm to start the process of charging those who are guilty of bearing false rumors against BTS and the label. Big Hit Entertainment reiterated that the reason for this action is to protect the rights and interests of their artists.
Just recently, BTS member Jungkook became the latest victim of rumors, linking him to Lovelyz member Yein. Some netizens are claiming the two idols are a couple because of their allegedly matching outfits, Allkpop cited.
Netizens even compared the photos of Jungkook and Yein to show that the two might be seeing each other.
Thus, Big Hit Entertainment asked the supporters of BTS to report this kind of issue to avoid damaging the reputation of the artists.
