"Blood & Oil" actor Delroy Lindo is set to play Robert Boseman in "The Good Wife" spinoff "The Good Fight." The upcoming follow-up series is for CBS All Access, CBS' VOD, and live streaming service.

According to Deadline, Lindo will play an attorney Boseman in "The Good Fight." He starts poaching the associates and clients of Diane Lockhart ("The Good Wife" star Christine Baranski) when Lockhart gets into financial trouble. He even threatens her ability to stay in business.

"The Good Fight" will pick up one year after the events of "The Good Wife" series finale on CBS, making it a little lighter in tone than the mothership drama. An enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer Maia ("Game of Thrones" alum Rose Leslie) while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Lockhart's savings. Maia and Lockhart are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and join Lucca Quinn ("Vera" actress Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago's pre-eminent law firms.

The premiere episode of "The Good Wife" spinoff series "The Good Fight" is co-written by Robert and Michelle King with Phil Alden Robinson as executive producer. The executive producers of the whole series include the Kings, Ridley Scott, Brooke Kennedy, David Zucker, Alison Cross, and Liz Glotzer for CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions.

Lindo's casting in "The Good Wife" spinoff "The Good Fight" comes the day after it was announced that Leslie would also join the cast, Variety reported. He also recently landed a lead role in writer-director Michael Winnick's new indie feature "Malicious." He is best known for his appearances in Spike Lee's films "Malcolm X" and "Crooklyn" and starred in series "The Chicago Code" and "Believe."

"The Good Wife" spinoff series "The Good Fight" will debut in February 2017 on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access, making it the service's first original scripted series. It will be distributed worldwide by CBS Studios International. The production is already filming.
