When "Injustice 2" was featured in YouTube, it looked very promising with the new roster of heroes and abilities and upgrades. But, now it seems like the game will be delayed due to the ongoing strike from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
Around a week ago (Oct. 21 to be exact), SAG-AFTRA went on strike, which affected affected a lot in the video game industry, especially big named developers like Activision, Electronic Arts, Insomniac Games, Take-Two, and Warner Bros. In report from Deadline, the SAG-AFTRA strike affected games that began production on after Feb. 17, 2015. And it looks like "Injustice 2" will be one of those games that will be delayed, unfortunately.
While that happens, at least news won't stop coming in, especially that involving new characters. Those rumored to join the roster will be the villains Captain Cold and Ra's Al Ghul, according to Event Hubs. There are have been reports that previously released "Injustice 2" trailer actually hinted Captain Cold's freeze gun. For the case of Ra's Al Ghul, fans speculated that the announcement trailer's voice over line could be said by the villain himself.
In the case of the delay due to SAG-AFTRA, Warner has yet to announce when "Injustice 2" will be released or if it really has been delayed at all. There hasn't been any official announcement from the company on the matter which may mean that the upcoming DC game might not be affected by the recent events at all.
For now, "Injustice 2" is still looking at a March 2017 release date and hopefully it'll stay that way.
