Heart rate and human blood pressure are part of autonomic nervous system which roles to manage body's basic functions. Even though there is no comprehensive research previously, there are many mental disorder cases have been found to be connected with abnormal blood pressure in heart rate.

This anxiety cases are finally researched in Swedish by involving conscripts of the Swedish Army. The participant are linked to the researchers from the national patient registers. Eure Kalert Publication reported, "men whose resting heart rate was higher than 82 beats per minute during their youth were 69% more likely to later be diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder than men whose resting heart rate was lower than 62 bpm. The risk for schizophrenia increased by 21% and for anxiety disorders, 18%"

During the study, other factors like BMI, socioeconomic status, ethnic background, and cognitive ability are also tested using certain physical exercise. Yet, those factors are not dominated to count the results. The present of those 3 factors is purposed to produce more accurate results.

This anxiety study also concludes that there is a link between low resting heart rate and the increased chance of doing crimes. "These results are interesting, because they provide new information on the role of the autonomic nervous system in psychiatric disorders," Antti Latvala explained, the researcher of University of Helsinki postdoctoral who led the project.

NY Times also explains that stress or mental disorder can possibly come when blood is stickier. That is why, the anxiety has a connection between human blood pressure and its heart rate. Interestingly, this factor involved in human body since he was young. This means, even though young teenagers have no psychiatric disorder, as long as their heart rate and their blood pressure are unstable, they will eventually got mental disorder someday.

Further, the results of this research will not only help doctor to reduce anxiety cases by controlling its heart rate and blood pressure. It is also useful to treat patient with hypertension and heart disease by decreasing his stress level.
