More ideas for the "Star Wars" movie franchise have popping out as it gets bigger and bigger. Just recently, Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor has just expressed his interest in making a film based on his character.
According to the French publication Premiere, the actor mentioned during his promotion of American Pastoral that he would love to take the role of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi once again, thanks to the translation by Den of Geek. McGregor added that he wouldn't mind having a film or two that focuses on the Jedi Master's time between the classic and prequel trilogies. He wanted to see the events that transpired after the "Attack of the Clones" to the events of "A New Hope" where Alec Guinness (who played the old Obi-Wan in the classic series)
McGregor added by expressing his excitement to return to the series. "It would be fun to film that story now [that] I'm older," he said. "I'd be the right age. I'm forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them!"
IGN also reports what the "Star Wars" actor would like to see in the spinoff film that centralizes on Obi-Wan, hoping that the studio "explore different genres under the Star Wars banner." He went on saying: "One of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!"
McGregor admitted to having this idea for quite some time, but nobody ever asked him about it. Although he did make a somewhat appearance recently in the films with a voice-over cameo in "Star Wars Episode 7: A Force Awakens," the actor also reiterated numerous times on how much he wanted to play the character if given the chance.
