'Train to Busan' actor Gong Yoo stars in 'The Lonely, Shining Goblin' [WATCH]

'Train to Busan' has been a big hit with actor Gong Yoo along with other co-stars. Being one of the most sought-after actors, Yoo will venture into a fantasy drama TV show titled 'The Lonely, Shining Goblin' where he plays the role of a goblin himself named Kim Shin/Dokkaebi.

The new Korean drama was written by Kim Eun-sook and PD Lee Eung-bok. The series is a fantasy romance regarding an eccentric and miserable goblin named Kim Shin who lives an immortal life. However, his destiny is lamentable and he needs to find a human bride to conclude his immortality, according to dramabeans.

Kim Go-eun (Ji Eun Tak) will be his leading lady who is a high school senior and keeps positive in spite of her agonizing life. The drama TV series will also highlight a bromance between  the Angel of Death/ Wang Yeo with amnesia (Lee Dong-wook) and the goblin  himself who will become roommates and together will accompany souls to the afterlife. Wang Yeo will fall in love with Sunny (Yoo Inna).

Sunny is a pleasant but infantine poultry shop owner while Yook Sung-jae plays the role of a chaebol heir and the family's thirteenth generation to take care of the goblin is also Kim Shin's nephew.

Wow Keren noted that the fantasy drama is slated to premiere on December 2, 2016, during Fridays and Saturdays at 20:00 after the "The K2". tvN began the promotion through a release of teaser scene photos including the premiere episode.

The first filming began in North Jeolla Province, South Korea on September 22 while on October 5, the production shoots in in Quebec City, Canada. The TV series will be directed by Lee Eung-Bok with casts including Kim Min-Jae (King), Kim So-Hyun (Queen), and Kim Seong Kyeom in a supporting role. Other characters include Park Hee-Von, Hwang Suk-Jung, and Lee El.
