Hollywood actor Reggie Lee shares his experience starring in fantasy TV show "Grimm" and his brief appearance in Hollywood blockbusters.
Lee plays a police officer named Sergeant Wu in the fantasy TV show "Grimm". The character easily became a fan favorite because of his charm and witty one-liners.
Lee's character can easily be one of the factors that drove the success of the show. The TV show will be celebrating is 100th episode in 2016.
Before playing the role of Sergeant Wu on the hit TV show on NBC, Lee played William Kim on the equally popular show "Prison Break"
Lee also starred in big Hollywood movies including "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "The Dark Knight Rises." Unfortunately, Lee's screening time in Hollywood blockbuster films are brief which he attributed to his ethnical background.
In an exclusive interview with website Da Man, Lee said that he sees the racial diversity in Hollywood progressing. Lee continued to explain that he used to play a lot of bad guys when he was first starting out in Hollywood. Now, minority actors are starting to become integrated into more mainstream television to fulfill a demographic.
The Filipino-American actor started his career in Broadway, which Lee recalled, where many Asians have had a difficult time making their way into the industry. He shared that he thinks that Filipinos in particular had a relatively tougher time than other Asians.
Fortunately, Asian Americans are finally getting lead roles on television. "I think it's amazing that Filipinos are finally being represented on such a national and international level. It's about time!" said Lee.
Despite the initial struggles, Lee still sees himself going back to Broadway one day. Although that would require a different set of muscle and plenty of stamina, going back to Broadway is an idea Lee loves to consider, the website has learned.
Lee is set to star in an upcoming thriller entitled "Behind the Walls" and another indie movie entitled "Sunflower."
The midseason premier of "Grimm" Season 5 is set to air on Jan. 22. The upcoming episode is titled "Eve of Destruction," the International Business Times has learned.
