Former NBA player Samuel Dalembert was reportedly arrested and indicted of battery charges on Sunday for allegedly beating a woman and a young man.

ESPN reported that the 35-year-old center, who is currently suited up for Chinese Basketball Association club Shanxi Brave Dragons, faced "battery charges after authorities say he hit his girlfriend and her cousin".

The police report came from the Boca Raton station in Palm Beach County, Florida as officers from the said post responded to a 911 call from Dalembert's home during Sunday night.

The report said that "the woman and her cousin initially told officers nothing was wrong but eventually said the 7-foot, 270-pound Dalembert became upset after finding out that his girlfriend was leaving for Orlando with their two children".

It continued that "Dalembert pushed the girlfriend down and then choked the cousin when he tried to intervene".

Dalembert's girlfriend is said to be the mother of the basketball player's two children aged 1 and 8.

With that, the former New York Knicks big man was "booked on two battery counts and left Palm Beach County Jail on Monday under supervised release," as per Yahoo Sports.

The police said that Dalembert was behaving "aggressively" when they reached the former NBA standout's home and saw the girlfriend with a scraped chin, fat lip, bruised forehead, and scratched shoulder.

The woman then told police that he was "drinking excessively" and recently "not acting like his normal self" especially after he was disappointed in knowing that his two kids will be taken to Orlando.

A scuffle said to have ensued earlier between Dalembert and the woman, and when her 26-year-old cousin mediated, the then 13-year NBA veteran put him in a "choke hold, threw him to the ground and head-butted him", according to the report.

Dalembert last played in the NBA during the 2014-2015 season with the Knicks and had averaged 4.0 points and 5.3 rebounds, the lowest of his career excluding his rookie year. His evident decline resulted in him not having an NBA contract after that season, which led him to pursue a playing stint outside the United States.

He ended up being signed by the CBA's Brave Dragons last December.
