The long wait is over as Red Velvet is finally back and has reserved something cheery and colorful for their fans. On Wednesday, the girl group released the official music video of their comeback single titled "Russian Roulette" through SM Town's YouTube channel.

Allkpop described the song as something "light and catchy" which easily captures the attention of the listeners. Compared to "One Of These Nights" previously released by Red Velvet, "Russian Roulette" is more upbeat, although the new single is not as lively as "Dumb Dumb" under "The Red" album.

Just a few weeks ago, a source affiliated with SM Entertainment hinted a five-member girl group is set to make a comeback in September, Koreaboo reported. Although the group was not named, reports suggest that the girl group then was working on their comeback album.

Aside from that, reports also said SM Entertainment and Red Velvet are gearing up to claim the "most popular girl group" title following the success of "One Of These Nights" that was released in March this year.

The ballad track is under their second mini album called "The Velvet" alongside seven other songs including "Cool Hot Sweet Love," "Light Me Up" and "First Time." Red Velvet's first mini album "Ice Cream Cake" with six tracks was released in 2015. Its release was also the first appearance of Red Velvet's fifth member Yeri.

Red Velvet made their debut under SM Entertainment on Aug. 1, 2014 with the release of "Happiness." A year later, the girl group has created their mark in the music industry after their album "The Red" topped several charts including Gaon Album Chart and Billboard World Albums Chart.

Aside from performing onstage, some members of Red Velvet have also done hosting and TV appearances.

Watch and be entertained by Red Velvet's comeback release "Russian Roulette."
