Due to the projects that keep on piling up on her plate, South Korean actress, host and model Kim So Hyun decided not to pursue high school. In a recent interview with the X Sports News, the 17-year-old star further shares her thoughts on giving up secondary education.

Kim confessed that she never regretted her choice on giving up high school. According to the star, balancing career and studying has been difficult for her as she could not gather her focus very well doing two things at a time.

“When I got bad scores, I started feeling ashamed of myself. Thinking of that, I decided I would rather spend the three years I would have spent in high school on acting instead,” Kim stated as quoted by All KPop.

She added: “Of course, I wasn’t sure about my decision at the time. But luckily I received some good projects afterwards and was able to continue my career. My filming experience also contained something of the school life, so I didn’t feel like there was something missing. And since I don’t film alone, I made memories on set as well.”

However, Kim revealed that she would like to be a psychologist if given a chance as she likes hearing out problems and giving advice, Soompi reports. She added that it was her psychology counselor in the middle school that made her appreciate the course.

Kim started her career in the entertainment industry in 2006 after being one of the cast members in the “Drama City” special titled “Ten Minute Minor”. She rose to fame in 2012 after portraying the character of the young Heo Yeon Woo in the TV drama series “Moon Embracing the Sun”.
